The Rochester International Airport Company has announced a 3.08% target for DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) Airport Building contract for the fiscal years 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Contractor News had previously reported that FAA announced $1 billion in airport modernization and renovation, and this move by Rochester is a great initiative to allow DBE to get their share of federal contracts.

The Rochester International Airport Company will use the contract goals to fulfill any of the overall objectives the recipient does not expect to achieve using the RN means. Contract goals are designed so that, over time to which the overall goal applies, they will meet any part of the recipient's overall goal that is not expected to be met by RN means.

The Rochester International Airport Company will set up contract objectives only for FAA/DOT-approved airport contracts that can be subcontracted. It doesn't have to set a contract objective on every such contract, and the range of the contract goals will be adjusted to the parameters of each such contract (for example, type and location of work and availability of disadvantaged business enterprises to perform the particular type of work).

The suggested objectives and rationale are open for inspection between morning 8:00 a.m. to evening 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, at the Rochester International Airport, located at 7600 Helgerson Drive SW Rochester, Minnesota 55902, till April 11. Any comments on the DBE goal will be taken up to 30 days from the date of notice publication and can be sent to the following address:
