The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) actively engaged the public in shaping its Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program for the upcoming federal fiscal years 2025-2027. As part of its commitment to transparency and inclusivity, DDOT hosted a series of public meetings to gather feedback on its proposed DBE goals and methodology.
A virtual meeting was held on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Eastern Time. During this session, DDOT presented its draft DBE Goal and Methodology plan and encouraged attendees to share their comments and suggestions.
In addition to attending the meeting, the public was able to submit comments via email to dbe.ddot@dc.gov until Monday, November 11, 2024. DDOT encouraged all stakeholders to provide input, which would be carefully considered in the development of the agency’s final DBE goals.
The draft DBE Goal and Methodology plan was made available for review on the DDOT website’s Office of Civil Rights page from October 11 to November 11, 2024.
DDOT emphasizes its commitment to ensuring equal access and opportunity for all businesses, regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, age, or disability. The agency provides resources and support for DBEs to successfully compete for transportation construction contracts and promotes a fair and inclusive business environment.
For those who could not attend the meeting, materials were made available on the DDOT website within 72 hours of its conclusion.
