New San Diego County pilot programs have been implemented to help small businesses get more involved in local contracts.
The launches take into account the needs of local emergent businesses, particularly those that have been ignored in the past, and aim to help them win county orders.
The county is delivering specialized training, mentorship, and business help in collaboration with Founders First CDC. The process concentrates on a business's financial stability, adherence to regulations, and proposal writing. The certification guarantees that businesses are ready for a contract when they go to public bidding.
Moreover, small businesses in the San Diego & Imperial area can receive additional help from the Small Business Development Organization, which provides mentoring, training, and financial resources to facilitate companies' growth. With these arrangements, the goal is to remove those barriers that are the main reasons for the low number of entrepreneurs taking part in the contracting market.
One of the Contractor News reports says it has become well known that San Diego is also taking measures to improve diversity in public works procurement. The officials are convinced that these fresh trial programs are going to open up even more job opportunities, strengthen local business ecosystems, and have a positive impact on the subsequent economic growth of the region.
