Arizona continues to support small businesses and entrepreneurs with an increasing network of state-sponsored services, funding vehicles, and advocacy partnerships.

The Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) continues to be at the forefront of this endeavor, providing a comprehensive array of small business tools such as business plan assistance, capital access programs, mentorship groups, and licensing support.

The ACA's Small Business Services department also assists in linking entrepreneurs with regional development centers and incentives unique to the state.

Furthermore, the Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA) continues to promote policies and collaborations that support small business development. The organization provides professional development, access to health plans, and networking opportunities for thousands of members across the state.

All of these state and nongovernmental efforts are supplemented by Arizona's Office of Strategic Initiatives, which has recently introduced small business and entrepreneurship into its formal strategic priorities. The office fosters inclusive economic growth through grants, innovation support and local ecosystems.

Arizona's small business support strategy is aligned with the broader economic inclusion objectives. For example, the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is accepting public input on Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goals to increase access for minority-owned businesses and small businesses in transportation contracting.

However, as an earlier report has highlighted, many small businesses continue to face challenges like inflation, supply chain disruption, and stable funding difficulties. And with these shifting resources, Arizona is aiming to provide not just recognition but results to its small business sector.
