In order to increase utilization of Small-Disadvantaged Businesses (SDBs), the Biden-Harris administration recently announced a set of federal procurement reforms.

The White House is requesting federal agencies to increase their current spending goal for SDBs from 5 percent to 11 percent.

They are working to reach a federal spending goal for SDBs of 15 percent by 2025. In addition to increasing the SDB goal, the White House will also be introducing updated goals for additional SBA certifications and business categories, including Women-Owned Small Businesses (WOSBs), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOBSBs), and HUBZone businesses.

In an effort to increase transparency, the administration will be releasing disaggregated data on federal contracting broken down by the race/ethnicity of business owners.
