The Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council (GMSDC) is preparing to unveil an updated Economic Impact Report during the 2024 Minority Business Opportunity Week (MBOW), scheduled for September 16 to 20. This event, established in 2021, celebrates the achievements and economic contributions of Georgia’s minority business community. Coinciding with Hispanic Heritage Month, this year’s festivities mark the fourth annual observation and will feature a weeklong slate of events, including panels, commemorations, and activities that highlight the vital role of minority businesses in Georgia, known as the nation’s number one state for business.

For over a decade, the GMSDC has led research initiatives to analyze minority business development, commissioning studies that assess the state’s economic landscape. Georgia has emerged as a key hub for minority entrepreneurship, thanks to a business-friendly climate and supportive economic policies. These initiatives have resulted in unprecedented numbers of minority business startups.

This year’s MBOW will not only showcase the updated Economic Impact Report but also include a corporate matchmaking event designed to connect corporate leaders with potential minority business partners. Additionally, an outreach event in Middle Georgia, in partnership with the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, will further foster collaboration. The GMSDC is also gearing up to host the NMSDC National Conference and Exchange on October 20-23, 2024, at the Georgia World Congress Center, gathering the supplier diversity community for impactful discussions and networking opportunities.
