With a commitment to actively engage with diverse and underutilized partners, HNTB's office in Denver recently organized an industry networking event focusing on minority and women-led organizations and vulnerable businesses.

HNTB is working with multiple agencies in Denver, Colorado. It has provided architecture and engineering services at Denver International Airport. In particular it worked on the airport's $544 million Hotel and Transit Center and Concourse Expansion Project.

They are currently aiding CDOT (Colorado Department of Transportation) with its Front Range Passenger Rail Project, providing systems engineering support to RTD, assisting DEN with the 7th Runway review, and assisting the City and County of Denver with program management.

According to participants, the event was a huge success and was attended by over 100 people representing over 40 local firms. HNTB’s staff moderated between the attendees and various regional transport agencies and identified synergies between the experts and the service needs of clients.

Reza Akhavan, PE, HNTB’s Denver office executive and Vice President, addressed the audience, “This successful networking event resulted in discussions about accomplishments to date, future opportunities, and potential teaming arrangements for upcoming projects with Denver's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, the Colorado Department of Transportation, the Denver International Airport, and the Regional Transportation District.”

Recently, HNTB has also partnered as a sub-consultant with a woman-led aviation firm, Aviation Planning Group. To support these initiatives, the Denver office has increased the headcount of its team, recruiting more industry professionals, senior planners, program managers, environmental experts, etc.
