The SBA has announced that they now have Women’s Business Centers in all 50 states in addition to Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico.

The announcement comes following the opening of the administration’s 141st center in Anchorage, Alaska.

“Women are leading America’s entrepreneurial renaissance, and, under the Biden-Harris Administration, the SBA has delivered billions of dollars in financial assistance, expanded our services, and extended our reach to help more women entrepreneurs seize the opportunities of our nation’s growing recovery and realize their American dream of starting and growing a successful business,” SBA Administrator Isabel Guzman said.

“With the addition of our Alaska Women’s Business Center, our WBC network now spans all 50 states and Puerto Rico for the first time in the SBA’s history, which is a milestone achievement against our mission to advance equity and reach more women entrepreneurs with services that make a difference,” Guzman added.

Additionally, the SBA has recently updated its list of eligible industries for federal contract set-asides under the Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) program.

As Small Bizz Trends reports, the “number of industries eligible for the WOSB Program [rose] from 444 to 759. That is an increase of 70 percent, with the changes effective immediately.”
