DBE workshops to be held by Illinois DOT

IDOT will be hosting online workshops this January in hopes of expanding the participation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) in state projects.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will host workshop webinars this January as it looks to expand the role of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) in public works.

Large tranches of funds are being administered by IDOT as part of the historic and bipartisan Rebuild Illinois program.

The topics being covered during the sessions in January will range from financing, QuickBooks training, estimating and bidding, insurance, management, to steps needed to be certified as a DBE firm.

Here is a list of all the virtual sessions:

  • Jan. 4, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Bidding on the IDOT Website
  • Jan. 6, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Excel Estimating and Bidding Worksheet
  • Jan. 11, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Overhead Calculation Rate
  • Jan. 13, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Improving your Personal Business (D&B) Credit Score
  • Jan. 25, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Quickbooks: Setting Up your Company
  • Jan. 26, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Quickbooks: Performing Day to Day Tasks
  • Jan. 27, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Quickbooks: Reporting
