Griffith & Strong, P.C. is currently completing a disparity study that will determine if minority- and women-owned businesses (M/WBEs) are fairly winning contracts with the City of Birmingham. The firm is seeking further input from local businesses to ensure correct results.

The study will look at the number of minority- and women-owned businesses in the region and the amount of business/contracts they are receiving from the city along with analyzing barriers that affect their contracts. Questions are being asked in regards to demographic and other anecdotal information about the companies and their amplitude.

The city is encouraging all businesses, not only minority-owned, to partake in the survey. The more data and information collected will help provide a more accurate result. The survey is a key part of future contracting for M/WBEs with the city and will be used to create requirements for diversity inclusion in city contracts.
