Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) has collaborated with Griffin & Strong, PC (GSPC), to conduct a Disparity Study as a part of the ongoing efforts to ensure equity and access. The study aims to determine if there is a significant statistical disparity between the availability of qualified, willing, and able minority and women-owned (M/WBE) businesses and the use of such firms by MSCS.

The Disparity Study will evaluate the necessary data to determine whether every qualified firm has adequate opportunity to compete for and participate in MSCS's procurement of prime contracts and related subcontracts. It will also suggest different strategies to ensure the availability of such opportunities to deserving small businesses.

Griffin & Strong, PC, a legal and public policy consulting firm, will hold two virtual public hearings on behalf of MSCS. The public is encouraged to share their feedback about conducting or attempting to conduct business with MSCS.
